"Color it RED" was hand writen on the original factory build sheet for a competition roadster for Tom Payne. "Gentleman" Tom Payne was known as such for the coat and tie he once wore while racing and winning in CSX2430 in Canada. Tom insisted on the red color for CSX2430 which fit his colorful sense of humor.

CSX2430 was a general built factory team car with numerous USRRC wins in addition to placing in SCCA events and at the Nassau Trophy races.

Independent:
CSX2430 was raced independently in numerous SCCA races in 1967. In 1984-85 CSX2430 was again raced taking 1sts at the Texas Vintage Challenge, and the Texas Can-Am Challenge, with Carroll Shelby at the wheel. CSX2430 also took 4th at the Kansas City Vintage Races where it set a lap record, as well as taking 3 more 1sts in SCCA by years end.
